Imagine yourself at the Lawrence Arts Center!

For the last 35 years, the Lawrence Arts Center has served over 100,000 people annually in Lawrence and surrounding communities. Last year, 8,000 students ranging from toddlers to university graduate students to professional and retired people were enrolled in over 1,000 arts education classes in drawing, painting, ceramics, creative writing, jewelry making, photography, printmaking, dance, film, drama and technical theatre. Another 300 preschoolers were given the opportunity to learn and grow through art in our unique arts based preschool. Many more were educated and inspired at our numerous gallery shows and special events. None of this could have been achieved without the 1,000 volunteers, people just like you, who donate their time to us each year.

Whether you are interested in volunteering one time or on a regular basis, we need your help to enable us to continue to build excitement through art, theatre, dance and education.

Imagine yourself...

...as an arts-based preschool aide
Work with full time preschool teachers to administer the arts-based preschool curriculum in a fun and creative environment.

...in the Usher Corps
Greet patrons when they arrive at the center, take tickets, help guests find their seats and stay for the performance!

...as our docent
Gain an in-depth knowledge of each gallery exhibit and featured artist at the art center and share with individuals and groups touring the center.

...as an art education aide
Assist art educators and students in an artistic and engaging classroom setting.

...in the Gallery Shop
Work in the gallery shop selling unique and functional artwork created by artists in Lawrence and surrounding communities.

...at special events
The Lawrence Arts Center offers many opportunities throughout the year to assist with special community events such as Holiday Shop, SouperBowl Saturday and Dance Gala.
