INSIGHT Art Talk Series

Thursday, May 19, 2011. 7PM

Kate Meyer will speak about the Prairie Print Makers. This talk is in conjunction with an exhibition currently on display at the Lawrence Arts Center featuring all of the charter members of this collective.

From Kate Meyer:

In December of 1930, a group of ten artists met in Lindsborg, Kansas to form the Prairie Print Makers. Dedicated to advancing the cause of printmaking, this group fostered a climate in which works of art were created, appreciated, and shared. Learn more about this group, their connection to Kansas, and to print culture in America during the 1930s with speaker Kate Meyer from the Spencer Museum of Art.

Kate Meyer is the curatorial assistant in the Department of Prints and Drawings at the Spencer and she holds a PhD in American Art from the University of Kansas.

This event is FREE and open to the public. INSIGHT Art Talk Series sponsored by KU Credit Union
