About Our Semester Dance Programs

BALLET TRAINING

The Lawrence Arts Center offers a comprehensive training program in classical dance for youth and adults taught by highly trained professionals. Ballet demands careful and consistent training. We offer classes for beginning through advanced dancers and preparatory classes for the very young. All students study in a caring and professional environment.

MODERN DANCE TRAINING

Technical training combined with exercises and improvisations to develop the expressive potential of dance are the two aspects of a modern dance class. Flexible use of the back, off-center movement, use of the floor, and parallel positions are some of the characteristics of this training.

TAP TRAINING

Enjoy this American dance form and get your feet tapping to the beat. Learn basic steps: shuffle, flap ball-change, Irishes and more.

JAZZ TRAINING

This traditional American dance form concentrates on isolation, grounded movement and rhythmic excitement. Enjoy popular music and learn some of the latest moves.

FEES for all Semester Classes are listed below. Prices for most Session Classes are listed below their descriptions.

Annual Tuition For Youth And Adult Dance Classes

For most dance classes at the Lawrence Arts Center, it is necessary to enroll for each semester separately. Tuition for most dance classes is charged for the Fall Semester (August-December) and a longer Winter/Spring Semester (January-May). A monthly payment plan is also available. The fee is based on the total number of hours of study per week.

As the number of hours/classes per week increases, the overall rate per hour decreases.

Family discount! The monthly rate is based on the total hours of study per week for all enrolling members of a family living in the same household.

Discovery classes, performances classes, and special workshops are priced individually.
See course descriptions for information.

Monthly payment plan:

• First payment is due at enrollment.

• Additional payments are due on the first day of each month of that semester. We do not send bills or reminders. If payment is not received on or before the 10th of the month, a $10 late fee is due in addition to the regular monthly payment. Students are liable for the cost of the entire semester unless we receive notice of intent to withdraw in writing. Notification must be received prior to the first of the month in which you will no longer be attending to avoid extra payments.
