The 29th Annual Lawrence Art Auction to Benefit the Lawrence Arts Center

The annual Lawrence Art Auction is planned for Saturday April 18 at the Lawrence Arts Center , 940 New Hampshire St. in downtown Lawrence , Kansas. Doors open at 6pm; Live Auction begins at 7:30pm. The auction will feature work of approximately 230 area artists. Ric Averill, auctioneer, will officiate. This year’s featured artists is Dave Van Hee. A preview exhibition for the auction opens on March 23 with a public reception planned for April 3 from 7 – 9p.m.

Silent Auction

Over half of the works of art will be available in the Silent Auction. Bids on Silent Auction items may be made during the Preview Exhibition. Silent Auction items may be "bought out" of the auction for 150% of posted retail value. Winners of Silent Auction items will be posted at the Live Auction on April 18. Winners of Silent Auction items who are not present on Auction night will be notified by telephone starting on Monday April 20.

Live Auction

Approximately 100 works of art will be auctioned live on Saturday evening April 18. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Lawrence Arts Center for $25 beginning March 23. Tickets may be purchased at the door on April 18 for $30. This year for the first time bids may be made on Live Auction items in advance of the auction. You may register a bid on a bid card next to the item until noon on Saturday April 18.
